Hazbin Hotel's Creator Has Seen Your Second Season Predictions — With Some Good News

The much-anticipated Season 2 of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel launches on the streaming platform this week, and fan speculation has been rampant.

The first season presents a diverse group of characters living within the afterlife, pits them against each other with songs about their clashes, and builds tense rivalries and angsty, affectionate connections that drive fan obsession.

The fandom's stated hopes for season 2 vary widely, but certain themes emerge over and over: Could Angel Dust escape his tormentor? Will we find out more about the binding agreement constraining the enigmatic Alastor? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?

"Obviously, I don't produce the show with fan service specifically in mind," the showrunner stated recently. "But I feel like me being a fan of my own show means there's a lot of it just inherently. I also want to see these things, and I hope some of these things to occur, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator reveals her big-picture plan is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have already been green-lit by the production companies, which finance the series.

That might mean viewers have to wait years for some of the biggest payoffs — but they could be shocked at how quickly season 2 progresses, and how many of what they're waiting for happens now.

"I believe people are going to get a lot out of it," she adds. "There are several debut moments. I think we receive some incredible reveals, some really cool backstories, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience much more singing from the previously silent cast members."

The creator is well-informed of the guesses and hopes about season 2 — particularly in the form of audience prediction charts.

"I've seen a few fans create a prediction grid about the new season," she mentions. "Naturally I can't post it, but I've already completed a few items, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 premieres on the streaming service on October 29.
